If you didn’t watch the Billboard Music Awards you missed two things: the debut of Adele’s new music video and Kesha’s performance of a Bob Dylan classic.
Adele came first. After winning the award for Top Billboard 200 Album (and accepting via video because she’s on tour), the awards show debuted the video for her new single “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).” The song is basically a contemporary pop jam and the video stars Adele and her new girl band made up of Adeles. Let me explain – Adele is in the centre wearing a stunning floral Dolce & Gabbana gown and as she sings more Adeles (these ones are translucent) start to pop up and perform with her. It’s a fan-girl’s dream!

Immediately after the video, Kesha performed “It Ain’t Me Babe” by Bob Dylan. It was exquisite and it left Twitter feeling emotional. And we have to mention Rihanna’s performance of “Love on the Brain.” It’s a love ballad and she nailed the vocals while giving a compelling performance. Canadian legend Celine Dion also nailed a performance of Queen’s “The Show Must Go On,” and received the ICON Award.
Let’s not forget the great clothing. Laverne Cox slayed in a Michael Costello gown and Ciara, who co-hosted with Ludacris, wore many many beautiful things. Basically, women dominated the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.
