Don’t get distracted — Amber Heard’s arrest in 2009 doesn’t mean that Johnny Depp is somehow magically in the clear for hitting her.
Depp supporters and folks who are so desperate to believe that Heard is generating lies and somehow made the Alice Through The Looking Glass actor hit her — are clinging to the new headlines revealing an incident that took place between Heard and her ex back in 2009.
Basically, Heard is trending in the news again because TMZ sniffed out information and discovered that she was arrested and booked for misdemeanour domestic violence in September 2009.
“According to law enforcement sources and documents, Amber and Tasya van Ree got in an argument on September 14, 2009 at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Amber allegedly grabbed and struck Tasya in the arm, which upset Tasya and triggered the arrest,” reports TMZ.
The prosecutors let her go.
Obviously, domestic abuse of any kind isn’t cool and Heard grabbing and striking her ex in the arm during a heated argument at the airport is not an okay thing to do — but none of this has anything to do with Depp and the fact that he’s been accused of violently abusing her.
Don’t let the smoke and mirrors confuse you.
Once more for the folks in the back, the news about Heard and her 2009 arrest doesn’t prove Depp’s innocence. They are two separate incidences. This new TMZ report doesn’t mean Depp didn’t hit her.
Also, some folks are pointing out that TMZ is starting to look like a site that supports victim blaming. Surprise, surprise.
