Fans of the Emmy Award-winning series Transparent are looking forward to the premiere of the second season of the dramedy set to premiere on Dec.11. But lucky folks in the U.S. who happen to be Amazon Prime members will be able to enjoy the debut of season two’s first episode on Monday night.
Creator, Jill Soloway, tweeted the news today that the new season will air at 8PM this evening.

Put out by Amazon Studios, the show that centers on a Los Angeles family and the revelation of the person they knew as their father, Mort (Jeffrey Tambor), being transgender. The retired college poli sci prof has come to terms with the fact they are a woman — opens up to the fam and spent season one transitioning to her identity as Maura.
Season two looks even better as the cast comes back for some more tear-jerking magic — the characters continue to deeply develop as more connections evolve.
Old school Who’s The Boss? fans have enjoyed powerful performances from Judith Light — best known as Angela Bower from the hit 80’s sitcom for eight seasons. In Transparent Light takes on the role as Maura’s ex-wife and mother of their three offspring. The cast also includes Amy Landecker, Jay Duplass and Gaby Hoffmann as the children.
Transparent isn’t the first series to receive early release. Earlier this year, Netflix hooked up Orange Is The New Black fans with an early release of the third season. Viewers couldn’t wait to visit Litchfield! Emmy Award winner Uzo Aduba was first to break the news on Twitter — best known for her role on the series as Suzanne/Crazy Eyes on the hit series.
This trend of early releases is something we can get behind. Also, this second season of Transparent is something we’re pretty excited about. Especially since we know the Emmy-winning series has already been renewed for a third season set to premiere in 2016.
