We hope your day has been full of candy and (appropriate) costumes, but in Hollywood it’s a different story. Every year someone makes a horrible mistake and wears a truly offensive costume – like the time Julianne Hough
wore blackface or when Chris Brown dressed up as a “terrorist.” You’d think in 2016 everyone would be smart enough to avoid distasteful costumes but Hilary Duff and her boyfriend dressed up as a pilgrim and Native American chief for the Casamigos Halloween Party Beverly Hills.
“I am SO sorry to people I offended with my costume. It was not properly thought through and I am truly, from the bottom of my [heart emoji] sorry,” she tweeted after facing backlash.
Jason Walsh, Duff’s boyfriend, also apologized via social media. This comes as Native American protesters are bringing awareness to the Dakota Access pipeline at Standing Rock.
Khloe Kardashian is also in hot water after posting a Snapchat with a friend dressed in Middle Eastern clothing including a keffiyeh. Considering she’s been in trouble for doing something similar, it’s pretty ridiculous.Image credit: Tumblr/fluffyisback
