Dani Mathers, the 2015 Playmate of the Year that shared an intrusive Snapchat of a woman in the showers at LA Fitness, has just been charged with invasion of privacy by the LAPD.
“I’m disappointed that she was charged with any type of violation. She never intentionally violated anyone’s privacy and never tried to break the law at any time,” Mathers’ lawyer Tom Mesereau told TMZ.
The charges come after the LAPD found the woman from the infamous Snapchat. In her 70s, the woman is willing to testify in court.
If convicted, Mathers could face up to six months in prison and a $1,000 fine. In the meantime she’s lost her job and has been banned from LA Fitness. More importantly, this has brought the issue of body-shaming to the forefront and the LA justice system is proving to be on the side of body positivity.
