Finally, a black woman has been cast on the enormously successful Bachelorette series. Rachel Lindsay, a contestant from the latest season of the Bachelor, is ready to find love on television, but will they cast anyone worthwhile?

Lindsay, an attorney from Dallas, Texas who says it’s been hard to find love, will get to choose from a plethora of men cast by ABC.

“It’s not just [about] being the first African American Bachelorette, but being a 30-year-old career-driven woman. So many women are going to be like, ‘I get it,'” she told Glamour.

What about the guys who don’t get it?

In a teaser released by ABC a white man named Dean thought he’d make a great first impression by telling Lindsay: “Just so you know, I’m ready to go black and I’m never going to go back.”

Lindsay managed to smile, laugh and say “I love that,” but time will tell if Dean’s pitiful introduction gets him a rose.

Believe it or not, Dean’s introduction actually gets more awkward. Watch below (skip to 3:18).
