Kristen Stewart and Chloë Sevigny’s people are in talks to have the actresses star in yet another Lizzie Borden movie.

Borden – if you don’t know – is the woman who was acquitted of the gruesome murder of her father and stepmother in 1892. The couple was killed with an axe in Fall River, Massachusetts. It inspired the creepy children’s rhyme: “Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother 40 whacks. When the job was finally done gave her father 41.”

While this version is for the big screen, the story has recently been adapted for TV. In 2014 Christina Ricci played Borden in the TV movie Lizzie Borden Took an Ax.

In this latest adaptation, American Horror Story’s Sevigny will play Borden and Stewart will play the family’s live-in maid who is a key witness at the murder trial.

Sevigny has previously tried to play the role of Borden – she was attached to an HBO production of the story that eventually fell through.

Waste Land director Pieter Van Hees is signed on to direct the psychological thriller and Kill the Messenger’s Naomi Despres will produce.
