Taylor Swift has given Kesha $250,000 to put towards her legal fees, but Demi Lovato doesn’t think it’s enough.
According to sources who spoke to TMZ, Kesha’s income “has been on ice for 3 years,” and her former producer, who allegedly sexually abused her, has been withholding royalties from the singer. Her savings must be dwindling considering she’s hired legal heavyweight Mark Geragos who has represented people like Winona Ryder and Michael Jackson.
On the weekend, Lovato became very vocal about the situation on Twitter.
“Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I’ll be impressed,” she said in one tweet.
“Not everyone has 250k to just give to people. Would love to but I didn’t grow up with money and def haven’t made as much as her. At least I speak up about s*** that’s uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7…I… would rather start a dialogue ABOUT WOMEN COMING FORWARD ABOUT BEING RAPED than throw money at one person,” Lovato told a fan on Instagram.
Other celebrities like Lady Gaga and Lily Allen have voiced their support for Kesha on Twitter, but Swift is the only one we know of who has opened her pocketbook.
