One of our favourite young feminists has landed a major role in the Spider-Man reboot coming out in 2017. Deadline reports Zendaya will play Michelle, perhaps a friend or roommate of the superhero.
Sounds like a win for director Jon Watts and a win for diversity! So far Tom Holland has been cast as the lead, and Marisa Tomei has been tapped for the role of Aunt May.
This is Zendaya’s second silver screen movie, the first being Duck Duck Goose, an animated film with comedian Jim Gaffigan. The multi-talented star was first a child-model, then an actress on the Disney Channel and has won a Teen Choice Award.
The 19-year-old hasn’t confirmed or denied the news and is currently in Paris for fashion week.
