After a judge said that there were inconsistencies in the complainants’ stories, Jian Ghomeshi was found not guilty on four counts of sexual assault and one count of overcoming resistance by choking.
Judge William Horkins announced the ruling today that found the 48-year-old not guilty on all the charges.
In June this year a second trial will begin for the sexual assault charge brought forward by a former CBC employee.
Of course, the internet is aghast.
Judge in Ghomeshi trial called witness’s behaviour “odd.” Yup! When you’ve been sexually assaulted, things can seem “odd” #IBelieveSurvivors

Ghomeshi verdict doesn’t change the truth. Thank you to the brave ones who came forward. Love & strength to all.

The whole trial was about whether the women’s experiences were truthful, & not about the fact that #Ghomeshi assaulted them.
