In addition to putting a tampon in your vagina when you’re bleeding, you can now insert a tampon monitor. What is a tampon monitor? Well, it’s a device that detects how saturated your tampon is and sends you a notification on your phone when it’s time to change it.
Created by my.Flow, the device wraps around the tampon string and clips onto your clothing which sounds like a bit of a hassle especially if you’re in a public washroom.
“The topic of menstruation, or as it’s known in many cultures, “the curse,” has always been treated as taboo,” the site reads. “We at my.Flow are set on making the monthly cycle the next tracked biological phenomenon, following in the footsteps of the hundreds of smart devices that track sleep, diet, exercise, and every other bodily function you can think of. We are developing a tampon monitor that notifies you when your tampon is full and should thus be changed.”
The monitor, which comes out next year, will retail for $49 and my.Flow says it will last for years.
